Soul Care

Ep 4:19 They became callous/ numb and gave themselves over to promiscuity for the practice of every kind of impurity with a desire for more and more.

Some people of Ephasus got desensitized to sin, and their soul needed nourishment.

Debra Fileta “when we start feeling even the slightest hint of emptiness, drain, and exhaustion, we can be tempted to run to a quick fix, something to give us a boost, distract us or fill us up as fast as possible.” What is that for you?

Problem: When we misidentify what will make us happy. We need God as our source.

Ps 23 The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me besides still waters. He restores my soul.

  • The Lord - We all have a shepherd. Is it the Lord?

  • I shall not want. Why? He has everything he needs.

  • He makes me lie down in green pastures. Make the sheep lie down…rest.

Do you wanna lie down or get knocked down? It’s not punishments, it’s compassion to restore our soul.

  • God leads me in paths of righteousness. Describe the path you’re on, & I could tell you where it leads. God in his mercy and grace can lead you to a different path in life. Self-care is a popular phrase today, but what cares for our soul. A bubble bath is not going to take care of your deepest self. Get on the path of righteousness.

  • He restores my soul. There's no pill for that. Be still and know that he is God.

What are the soul care habits you’ve built into your day? People with soul care habits built into their life flourish.

  • Ps 23 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.

God's gonna take you through it. This isn't the destination. If you're in a dark place right now, Grab onto God’s hand.

You can't restore your soul without surrendering it to the one who created your soul.
